Hive House ensures it operates lawfully and compliantly while providing high-quality care and support for young people by adhering to the following standards:
Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards: Hive House meets the nine Quality Standards outlined in the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, which focus on child-centered outcomes, ensuring personalised care, safety, and development.
Social Care Common Inspection Framework (SCCIF): Administered by Ofsted under the Care Standards Act 2000, SCCIF evaluates the impact of care on children’s experiences and progress. Inspections assess compliance with regulations, quality standards, and statutory guidance issued by the Department for Education (DfE).
National Minimum Standards (NMS): The NMS provide qualitative benchmarks for children’s homes, focusing on achieving positive outcomes for children while offering flexibility in how providers meet these standards.
NICE Guidelines: NICE standards define best practices for the health and well-being of looked-after children, complementing the Quality Standards.
Ofsted Inspections: Ofsted conducts at least two inspections per year for each home—one full inspection and one interim. These inspections assess compliance with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, focusing on the quality of care, outcomes for children, and adherence to statutory guidance.
Continuous Monitoring: Ofsted uses reports from providers, complaints, and other intelligence to schedule inspections or take additional actions when concerns arise, ensuring that children’s homes maintain high standards of care and legal compliance.
